«Beaux-Arts/Fine Arts/Art Moderne» is a performative installation in which the high level of performance is reduced to a single video-like image. The 4 to 12 hour long (depending on the context) live performance refers to music video choreographies, but reworked and extended to create a new reading, a plastic reinterpretation. As the performance proceeds, the viewers realize that the medium doesn’t exist, that the image is a here-and-now reality, and the dancers face disillusion in their extended version of Warhol’s “15 minutes of fame”.
“Beaux-arts” is renamed after the name of each museum or gallery where it is performed.
